The ruins of Anuradhapura ancient city, part of the cultural triangle is a very important place of pilgrimage in Sri Lanka. It is a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities of the world.
As another World Heritage Site, Polonnaruwa is famous for Buddhist pilgrims with its archaeological values. Impressive places like Audience hall, swimming pool, Gal Viharaya and Rankoth Vehera reached the high glory of Polonnaruwa period. the Dambulugala (Dambulla Rock Cave Temple) raises as a massive rock from the surrounding plains of Dambulla. It is home to the World’s most acclaimed Cave complex of magnificent Buddha Images and Rock Paintings of vivid colors and shapes. As the Eighth Wonder of the World, Sigiriya fortress complex has significant archaeological importance and attracts thousands of tourists every year. It is probably the most visited tourist destination of Sri Lanka.
Kandy, the last kingdom of Sri Lanka also has many places to explore, Temple of the Scared Tooth Relic being the highlight. Apart from all above exceptional attractions tourists take few days to visit Mihintale and Ritigala as well.

Day 1: Arrival / Negombo
- Arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport. Our representative will meet you with the paging board.
- You will stay at Negombo which will be your first destination in Sri Lanka.
- After relaxation at the hotel, in evening you can take the Negombo city tour.
- Overnight Stay at Amagi Aria Resort
Day 2: Anuradhapura
- After having breakfast, you will proceed to Anuradhapura which was the first kingdom of ancient Sri Lanka.
- You will visit Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi. It’s a very serene place and the sacred tree growing out of the middle temple.
- Later you will enter to Isurumuniya, a charming rock temple. It has beautiful stone carvings and one of the most famous is the “lovers” carving.
- Overnight Stay at Rajarata Hotel
Day 3: Anuradhapura
- Early Morning you will proceed to climb up Mihintayala, the place of birth of Buddhism in Sri Lanka.
- Later you will check out the Kuttam Pokuna known as the twin pots.
- You will explore the Abhayagiri Viharaya, Ruwanweli Stupa and Smadhi Budda.
- Overnight Stay at Rajarata hotel
Day 4: Polonnaruwa
- After breakfast you will head towards Polonnaruwa, the second Kingdom of ancient Sri Lanka.
- Here you can explore the Royal Place, Audience Hall, Sacred Quadrangle and Buddha figures at Gal Vihara.
- Overnight stay at Hotel Sudu Araliya
Day 5: Polonnaruwa
- The next morning you will visit, PabaluVehera, Dagaba Kiri Vihara and Rankot Vihara.
- You can explore the Nissankalatha Mandapaya, one of the more unique structures built by King Nissankamalla
- In evening you will take few minutes on the bund of Parakrama Samudraya (The see of Prakrama) to relax and admire the views.

Day 6: Sigiriya
- On day 6th you will visit Sigiriya.
- Once there, you can take the traditional Sri Lankan Village tour and experience the sightseeing of paddy fields, bullock cart ride, Traditional catamaran ride in a lake, visit to a chena cultivation, traditional cooking demonstration in a rural village house and authentic Sri Lankan lunch.
- Later you will proceed to top of the Pidurangala Rock and visit the Pidurangala Temple.

Day 7: Sigiriya
- Early morning you can climb up Sigiriya Rock Fortress where you can see a classic example for Sri Lankan ancient architecture & talent of the people.
- You will enjoy the Jeep Safari ride in Minneriya National Park, Asia’s largest elephant gathering area.
- Overnight Stay at Aliya Resort
Day 8: Kandy
- Next day you will visit Kandy which is famous for scared Buddhist sites.
- En route you can visit, Dambulla Cave Temple and Matale Alu Viharaya.
- In evening you will proceed to Temple of Scared Tooth Relic and enjoy the Sri Lankan traditional cultural dance.
- Overnight stay at Golden Crown
Day 9: Kandy
- On day 9th you will pay a visit to Lankathilaka Temple, Gadaladeniya Temple and Embekke Temple, the 3 major Buddhist Temples in Kandy District.
- If you are a nature lover you can visit Peradeniya Botanical Garden as well.
- Overnight stay at Golden Crown
Day 10: Galle
- After breakfast, t at the hotel, you will proceed to Galle.
- Climb Roomassala and visit the temple. Enjoy the Jungle beach which is a pretty bay nestled in a forested area
- Visit famous Galle Fort and walk around the old fort walls.
- Watch Sunset from Galle Fort Wall and enjoy the evening.
- Overnight Stay at Amari Galle
Day 11: Colombo
- Morning you will reach Colombo, commercial city of Sri Lanka. En route visit Kalutara Bodhi Temple.
- Visit Gangarama Buddhist Temple, one of the most prominent Buddhist Temples in Colombo city.
- Explore Galle face Green, Old Parliment and Dutch museum in Colombo.
- If you like to do last minute shopping with your loved ones, this is the best location.
- Overnight stay at Fairway Colombo
Day 12: Departure
- Last day our guide will take you to the airport.
- At the end of your wonderful tour with Ceylon Empire Travels, you will say Good Bye to Sri Lanka.
