Located about 1620 meters above sea level Hakgala botanical garden has pleasant climate and geographical fascination. From December to February the weather is extremely cold which from April to August it gets warm. The rest of the period of the year weather is on normal condition. Right behind this beautiful gardens it finds an extraordinary forest reserve that is filled with lush green landscapes.
The garden consists a rich variety of flora collection and it says number wise it is about 10000 of unique species that is spread across foe 88 acres and it says earlier it was about 500 acres. The prices of the Hakgala Garden tickets are as follows. For a foreign adult it costs around USD 4 (the prices can be slightly changed) and in local currency it would b3 about LKR 1500 and for a child it will charge half rate which is LKR 750.
