About Ramboda Falls
Ramboda waterfall consists three seclusive parts which is identified as Ihala (upper waterfall ), Meda Ramboda Ella (middle part of waterfall and Pahala Ramboda Ella (lower Ramboda Falls). These trilogy of waterfalls together create a fascinating scene.
The waterfall is located closer to Colombo Kandy Nuwara Eliya road and so as it’s easily accessible unlike most other waterfalls that you find in Sri Lanka and its about 1.5 Km away from the main road. To get a better view of the upper part of the waterfall, you can make a stop by at Tea Bush Hotel Ramboda from where you can spot another beautiful waterfall name Puna Oya Ella falls.
From henceforth its just taking the next turn of the main road and so as you can reach the middle part of the water fall and from this point you can get closer to the water falls and observe in it in a closer exposure. Also, if you would like to enjoy a hike and trekking you can walk towards the uphill and admire the 12m tall cascading beauty surrounded by lush green background.
If you would like to dip in cold water and enjoying a natural bath in the water fall, middle part of the water is the best suit and is a known comfortable and a safe spot for the travellers.
The lower part of the waterfall is just 500 m beneath the middle waterfall.
Location
This beautiful waterfall is located based in Pussellawa district which is belong to famous Kandy region towards Nuwara Eliya. If you are arriving from Colombo you can heading to Ramboda falls via Kandy and then direct ti Nuwara Eliya by Ramboda tunnel.
Also, if you are visiting Ramboda falls from Kandy you can direct there by turning towards Colombo to Nuwara Eliya.
Best time to visit
The best time to visit Ramboda water falls is when it at its best presentation. And it’s becomes significantly spectacular mostly during the raining period, yet during the raining time it’s not so recommended to dip in water or trying to swim or bath in these natural pools as it may find not safe.
Also, depending on the formation and cascading levels of the water fall you may not able to reach closer by if it’s at a dangerous situation to reach close by.
Usually, the weather around Ramboda waterfall find pleasant and cozy. And the weather would remain between 28 C to 32 C which will give green light for you to discover this beautiful natural fascination.
So as during the period of rainy season which is identifying in October, November, December and rest of the other raining time the waterfall will find best in its performance yet would be slippery and would be not so safe to get closer by.
